Is It Summer In San Francisco?

Foggy Days over the Golden Gate

"The coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco." - Mark Twaine

And how true that quote rings! Packing for California with the idea that I would be leaving the humid summer days of Boston for the equally as humid summer days of San Francisco, silly me only packed dresses, shorts, and tank tops. How severely wrong I could have been.

Arriving in San Francisco, I thought my plane had been rerouted. There was no way that I was in California, it felt as though I was in Alaska. Little did I know that the summers in San Francisco are chilly, foggy, and did I mention windy? These are all details that failed to be mentioned prior to disembarking the plane.

A word to the wise: pack some warm clothes, or be ready to be chilled when traveling to the Golden Gate City!
